| What is the Healthcare Alliance of Laredo? The Healthcare Alliance of Laredo (HAL) is a network of primary and specialty care physicians who have formed an Independent Practice Association (IPA). Our mission is to provide quality health care in an efficient, cost effective manner while allowing patients the choice in the selection of service and facilities in the managed care environment. The organization is not aligned in any manner with any health system, hospital, or insurance company. The physicians who make up the Healthcare Alliance of Laredo serve as advocates for the patient, choosing the most appropriate treatment in the most appropriate facility and settings. This can only be done by allowing patients the "freedom of choice" to make important decisions regarding their health. Practice Philosophy Providing optimal healthcare depends on the relationship between patient and physicians. The Healthcare Alliance of Laredo prides itself in developing relationships which build trust. This trust is reinforced by the communication process that exists throughout the network. Patients are actively involved in their own healthcare by making decisions that best meet their needs. Patients are encouraged to communicate any questions or concerns that may impact their care. A Caring Environment The Healthcare Alliance of Laredo is made up of physicians who know the needs of an ever changing healthcare environment. Most HAL physicians are from Laredo, making it a unique benefit to patients. Patients have the knowledge that their specific healthcare needs will be met by highly trained physicians who take their care to be of utmost importance. Keeping a healthy Laredo community is the goal of the Healthcare Alliance of Laredo.
